The Cal 2 showing is in the Tahltan Highland and is located 9.5 kilometres east of the Cassiar Highway.

The area of the Cal 2 is underlain by Upper Triassic undivided volcanic rocks of the Stuhini Group intruded by fine-grained, quartz phyric felsic intrusive rocks of Jurassic to Tertiary age. The felsic rocks are generally massive and contain small, rounded quartz eyes up to 3 millimetres diameter. About 600 metres to the northeast is a package of Stuhini Group rocks consisting of argillites, greywackes, and wackes.

Several narrow (less than 0.5 metre wide) carbonate veins occur within a greywacke unit on the northwest margin of the Cal 2 claim and contain up to 2 to 3 per cent galena, 1 to 2 per cent sphalerite, less than 1 per cent pyrite, and trace chalcopyrite. Sampling of a carbonate (plus/minus barite) vein in greywacke graded up to 0.9 grams per tonnne gold, 4.0 grams per tonne silver, 0.046 per cent copper, 1.04 per cent lead and 0.78 per cent parts per cent zinc (Assessment Report 20998).

In May and June 1990, an initial reconnaissance exploration program was conducted on the Cal claims by Stow Resources. A total of 73 rocks, 170 soils, 37 silts, and 10 heavy mineral samples were collected. In late 1990, Stow Resources completed programs of prospecting, geological mapping and geochemical sampling on the Cal 1-4 claims. A total of 13 rock, 122 soil, and 10 silt samples were collected in September of 1990.
